If you’re anything like me as a child, dinosaurs were a big thing, and they captured your imagination in every way possible. I had toys and huge collections of books dedicated to dinosaurs and as I grew up, that love of dinosaurs has never changed; just thinking of those huge beasts walking the earth still fills me with oawe. So imagine my excitement when the Dinosaur Art: The World’s Greatest Paleoarts published by Titian Books got sent to me, just looking at the cover made me feel like I was a small boy again, holding my first dinosaur book. The first thing you will notice is that the book is big and comes as a hard back, boasting over 188 pages.

The book is full of the top 10 Paleoartists.  If you’re wondering what these artists do; they are amazing, they take long dead creatures and breath life into them, this is done by taking a lot of bones, ideas and research from palaeontologists and slowly build up an amazing picture of whatever dinosaur they are bringing to life. Dinosaur Art: The World’s Greatest Paleoarts is just simply an amazing book filled with eye popping pictures of some of my favourite dinosaurs. As you look through the book it is broken up into sections, each section covers an artist and inside that section they talk about how they came up with the picture and what they used it for.  After reading this book you really get a better understanding on how these dinosaurs came to look the way they did, it really is a great skill. They really go into detail as well which is what I love about these types of books, not just about the dinosaurs but about their skills in setting up the pictures.  You see some of these artists have worked for the BBC and many other companies as well.
Dinosaur Art: The World’s Greatest Paleoarts has some really outstanding art and as you make your way through the book you will be greeted with some pages that you can unfold to show huge landscapes with huge creatures walking across them.

Overall Dinosaur Art: The World’s Greatest Paleoarts is an amazing book.  If you found yourself loving dinosaurs or just have a passing interest then this book is a great place to start understanding the artists behind the pictures you see on tv, and in books and the kids will love it as well, I know mine did.
