Batman Versus Bane from publishers Titan Books, is one of DC’s story-lines that everyone knows about and some of us enjoyed seeing Batman getting his back broken or if you’re like me, you kind of feel bad for the Bat, but nevertheless it makes for an amazing story and an amazing read.

I have experienced a series of firsts over the last few months, reviewing a graphic novel is now one of them. Before I continue with the review of this novel, I would like to explain to you my love of comics and superheroes. As a child I would look forward to Saturday. That was the day I got my pocket money and would happily go to the local newsagent and pick up my comics. I fondly remember collecting them and reading them, and then reading them again. And again, I was sort of an obsessive. Then there were the cartoons! I could go on and on, but dear reader I will stop for your comfort.

Superior is a graphic novel from the writer of Kick-Ass: Mark Millar, and is illustrated by Leinil Yu. The graphic novel seems to be set in today’s timeline. The world is still at war with itself, America still has troops in The East and like today the world needs a hero in any shape or form. I was expecting big things from Superior as Mark Miller has written comics such as Wanted and Kick-Ass, and then you see the name Leinil Yu who illustrated Superior, who has done many many different comics, so needless to say I was excited.

Urban Fantasy must be one of the fastest growing genres in literature at the moment with what seems to be shelves of books being released every month.

Urban Fantasy must be one of the fastest growing genres in literature at the moment with what seems to be shelves of books being released every month. Some of these are brilliant gem, jam-packed with originality and imagination but unfortunately there’s quite a lot of substandard fare out there as well. There’s a lot of clichéd characters, by-numbers plotting and lazy writing to hunt through before you find something special. So along comes (the memorably named) Devon Monk’s Magic in the Blood, the opening novel in a series of adventures for magic Hound Allie Beckstrom. Which is it going to be? Treasure or turkey?

Tanks, semi naked women and guns, and did I mention semi naked women? With explicit language, all I can say is Tank Girl is back! Oh one thing I totally forgot to mention; pants. There are lots and lots of pants.

Usually, I would start my review by giving a brief plot synopsis. In this case however, as the storyline of Revelations the novel almost entirely follows the plot of Revelations the game many of you will either be familiar with the plot, or will not want their surprises in their gaming experience ruined by spoilers…So in deference to all you gamers out there I shall use the blurb provided by Penguin:
